Leessang Wraps Up Successful First Showcase Tour Around Asia
Hip hop duo Leessang has returned to Korea after touring around Asia for their “2013-2014 Leessang 1st Asia Showcase.”
After opening their tour with a stop in Singapore on November 30, the duo continued on to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, and stood in front of their international fans for the first time. The shows were all sold out, and with venues fitting up to 3000 people, the duo’s popularity in the four Asian countries could not be denied.
The tour is particularly meaningful considering Leessang is a hip hop duo, and not an idol group.
Global Concert Team of CJ E&M, the promoter of this showcase, expressed their satisfaction with the tour, “We were nearly shocked to see how popular Leessang is as the fans sang with them, even despite this being Leessang’s first time visiting the countries. This opportunity made us seriously consider future overseas promotions for Leessang. Also, we are already receiving love calls from local promotes planning for large-scale concerts.”
The duo revealed their feelings on wrapping up the tour, “We had the precious experience of communicating with our Asian fans through music. We are very thankful to fans who came to see us. We will give you better music in return, and meet you often.”
Thanks to their appearances on popular variety shows, Gary and Gil are familiar faces to people all around Asia, but this showcase tour has proven that also their music appeals to the international audience.
