2NE1 to Release 2nd Album ′Crush′ with All New Tracks

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk, left a long and informative message with more updates for fans.

On February 13, Yang Hyun Suk posted a message on YG Entertainment’s official blog, concerning 2NE1′s comeback.

“2NE1’s second album will be revealed on online music websites at midnight (KST) on February 24. The offline release will take place the following week,” announced Yang Hyun Suk.

He added that the music video will be the most costly for a 2NE1 music video with lots of special effects. The first teaser will be released on February 24 and the full music video on February 28.

The 10 songs featured in the album will be completely new, minus one Korean version of one of 2NE1’s Japanese songs. Three of the tracks were self-composed by CL.

“2NE1’s second album title is Crush. It could mean to break or destroy, but it could also mean ‘to have your heart stolen by someone,’” said Yang Hyun Suk, explaining that the YG team worked hard, putting their heart and soul into each song on the album.

Before ending his update, Yang Hyuk Suk also cleared up a misunderstanding, explaining that the 2NE1 after party for its AON concert will only be held on March 2 and not on both days as reported by the media.

“I believe that 2014 will be the most important year for YG. If I could say it more roughly, it’s a year that’s like a huge gamble for the next 10 years for YG,” said Yang Hyun Suk, concerning his plans for the new year.

“It’s a year where YG’s representative groups like Psy, Big Bang, and 2NE1 will have an album release, but it’s also the year where four rookie groups, who have worked hard for several years, will finally be revealed.”

Knowing the new goal isn’t easy, Yang Hyun Suk explained that the only way to make everything possible is to produce good music with a talented team of producers and composers in and out of YG.

Meanwhile, 2NE1 will kick off its second world tour on March 1 and 2 in Seoul.
