CEMA Is Against Park Shi Hoo’s Return to the Industry
The Corea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA) recently shared their stance on Park Shi Hoo‘s return to the industry.
On March 5, CEMA stated, “We want to express our stance on the matters regarding Park Shi Hoo in an ethical sense for the rightful growth of Korea’s enertainment industry. Park Shi Hoo is someone who has raised a societal concern and public criticism not too long ago.”
“Although the case has ended legally, Park Shi Hoo is trying to return to the industry without morally gaining societal consent. Despite having been part of this problematic case, Park Shi Hoo is asking for the public to understand. He has not been reflecting long enough so he should not be returning yet,” they continued.
CEMA continued to mention the importance of improving the quality of Korean entertainment since the interest and love that the public have, especially the young people, are quickly growing day by day.
Recently, the media has been making reports on Park Shi Hoo’s possible return through a KBS drama. However, it was later announced that he will not be joining the drama and that Uhm Ki Joon took the role.
Last year, Park Shi Hoo was involved in an ugly legal battle involving accusations of sexually assaulting a celebrity trainee.

Why shouldn't he?The man is an excellent actor. He made a error. The girl took advantage. This was clearly a set up. Others have done worse and came bak. To slander a innocent person like this should not be acceptable. If this statement was made last year, when the news came I could understand. But now when everything is out in the open and it’s very clear that the so called scandal was a set up. I’m amazed by the lac of understanding when it comes to Koreas most talented actor. I don’t exactly understand what KEM expect of Park Shi Hoo. He has even apologies to the public when he’s done nothing wrong to begin with.
What the hell.... innocent until proven guilty, guilty until proven innocent, guilty even if proven innocent? What do CEMA want, how should someone who has (apparently) been falsely accused reflect on their situation? I think the " has not been reflecting long enough" line is appalling, if they have evidence to show he is guilty then they should put it forward, if they do not have evidence of such occurrence they should support the actor in his return to the industry.
He should come back. He made a serious error in judgment. He had sex with someone who later tried to blackmail him. There have been celebrities that have done more sinister actions and nothing happened. It is up to individuals to decide whether they will support him......not groups believing they are morally superior.
