Details have emerged about actress Park Si Yeon’s acting comeback, less than a year after a court found her guilty of taking the illegal drug propofol.
The actress will star in TV Chosun’s “Greatest Marriage,” set to air on the channel beginning in September. The role will be her first on Korean television since “Nice Guy,” which aired on KBS2 in 2012.
In the new role, she will play the part of a popular news anchor who, after failed romances, decides to become a single mother.
Park Si Yeon was one of a number of top Korean celebrities who became embroiled in the propofol drugs scandal early last year. The actress’s case culminated in a guilty verdict, and she was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for a period of two years.
The scandal has not deterred casting agents, however, and in addition to the new drama, she is also set to star in upcoming Hollywood action move, “The Last Knights,” alongside actors Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman.
