Filming came to a stop for You Are All Surrounded after Lee Seung Gi received a severe eye injury.
The staff decided that it was hard to broadcast an episode without Lee Seung Gi and ultimately chose to cancel the broadcast for one episode of You Are All Surrounded.
You Are All Surrounded is a drama about a rookie detective, who tries to find out the truth about his mother′s murder. Lee Seung Gi, who plays the rookie detective Eun Dae Gu, suffered from an unexpected injury and was told by doctors not to return to set.
Lee Seung Gi was filming an action scene in the early mornings of June 9, when a prop sword hit his eye. He was diagnosed with corneal damage and intraocular hemorrhage.
After the accident, Lee Seung Gi showed much pain and was quickly transferred to the hospital. Lee Seung Gi wanted to return to filming after receiving treatement, but with the doctor′s recommnedation for a thorough medical examination, he was unable to go back on set. He was then diagnosed with corneal damage and intraocular hemorrhage and told to have absolute rest.
With a completely packed schedule, Lee Seung Gi showed that he wanted to go back to fimling, but the worried staff held him back and Lee Seung Gi currently following doctor′s orders.
Since Lee Seung Gi is the main character and is in need to keep the story going, the staff decided it would be impossible to continue filming and has momentarily stopped filming. June 11′s broadcast will instead air a special episode, while episode 10 will be pushed back to June 12.
Lee Seung Gi is currently receiving treatment and rest. He is trying his best to recover as quickly as possible in order to continue keep the series running smoothly.
"It′s very unfortunate that the filming had to stop due to an unforeseen accident," said Lee Seung Gi. "I′ll do my best to have You Are All Surrounded continue. I want to apologize to all the viewers of You Are All Surrounded."
