MBLAQ Spent 3 Year Anniversary With Children & Donating Rice Wreaths


Idol Group MBLAQ (Seungho, G.O, Lee Joon, Cheondoong, Mir) spent their third year anniversary since their debut with children and donating their rice wreaths. MBLAQ members Mir, Lee Joon, and Thunder on the 15th visited Seoul Suseo Nursery and donated two tons of rice wreaths and served the children food and spent time playing with the children.

MBLAQ Mir, Lee Joon, and Cheondoong said to 5-7 year old children in the life protection program from the Nursery, “Eat a lot and eat slowly” giving a sense of genuineness. They spend an hour during their lunch time having a happy meal. The children happily cheered, and the happiness appearance on the children’s faces gave the people at the scene at sense of warmness in their hearts.

Afterwards, the members donated two tons of rice wreaths to the Mayor of Gangnam-gu Seoul, Shin Yeon-hee. Major Shin Yeon-hee expressed “Though Gangnam-gu is known to be a wealthy region, unexpectedly, it is one of the largest areas of with low-income struggling families” and continued to say “With the utmost sincere gratitude for donating the precious rice and taking precious time to spend time the children.”

The two ton rice that MBLAQ donated on that day are from MBLAQ’s multinational fans on behalf of MBLAQ on July 21 at Seoul Olympic Park Stadium for their two day “THE BLAQ% TOUR’ Asia tour concert in addition to the Dreame 9.1 ton relief rice donations.  A portion of the remaining rice wreaths will be donated to the Nation’s Children Welfare facilities.

Prior to this, MBLAQ previously donated 4 tons of rice wreaths to Anyang City Changwon Senior/Elderly Welfare Center. In addition, throughout this year, in February’s Fan Meeting contributed to 2 tons of rice, in July’s concert Dreame Rice Wreaths contributed 9.1 ton, and SBS “Ghost” with 0.8 tons totaling a donation of 12 tons of rice wreaths. Furthermore, Japanese fans during July’s Tokyo concert and September’s Yokohama concert donated a total of 260 kg of rice wreaths to Japan’s social welfare organization “Second Harvest”

MBLAQ’s rice wreaths donations included participation from 50 fan groups from 13 different countries ranging from Germany, Peru, Russia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirate, Thailand, Indonesia. Since 2010, MBLAQ’s various countries’ fans with MBLAQ have donated 15.3 tons of rice wreaths from 950 coal briquettes to Dream.

On October 14 2009 MBLAQ released their single album “JUST BLAQ” and debuted on October 15 2009.
