Where have we heard the name Shin-B before?
Hello KpopStarz. KCON featured artist. Featured on Kpop HipHop rapper Leo Kekoa's album, MBC Music Camp Radio, Fuse TV, Interview Magazine, The Heavy Hitters (top DJs from NY’s Hot 97, Kiss FM, etc), Power 106 FM. My debut “Get Up and Go” integrated technology by incorporating QR codes throughout the MV so it was featured by Samsung Mobile. My single “Buzzkillin” MV was directed by Restless Films (Jessie J and B.O.B) & produced by THX (Snoop Lion, Busta Rhymes, DCYC).

I've collaborated with artists and producers from Korea to the US. My single, "Bulletproof" was featured on the hit reality show, K-Town (Produced by Tyrese Gibson). My 1st joint single, "Invincible" was a collaboration with K-Pop songwriter, JD Relic (U-Kiss, B1A4) and was also featured on K-Town Season 2. Also host music programming shows, concert events, and other lifestyle media. Recently, I was the Official MC for popular K-Pop idol group, VIXX for their first global showcase in LA. My 2nd joint single, "Scream" with JD Relic just released on iTunes. Currently working on follow-up singles with Kairos Music Group (4Minute, f(x), BTOB) and Dev (producer for Karmin, Pitbull).
If you could describe yourself in 5 words what would they be?
Bilingual-rapper, Motivator, Bold, Feminine-tomboy, Family-oriented.
What does music mean to you?
My passion and purpose in life. My therapist. My storyteller. My identity. My journal to jot down past relationships (good and bad). A bridge that connects us all as a community. That thing you Shazam. Emotion-maker. Mind-reader. A bully at times, but a lover too. It's a rollercoaster. It's a matchmaker.
You've dabbled in the world of Korean pop, can you tell us about that?
I go back and forth between both the US and Korean market. You don't see too many bilingual rappers. I love both worlds. With the recent K-Pop explosion, it's definitely exciting. It's an actual genre on the music charts now which is pretty awesome. Gotta admit, my guilty pleasure is dancing to Gangnam Style and Crayon Pop. It's a legit workout!
I'm a solo artist, but recently, I've been collaborating a lot with top K-Pop songwriter, JD Relic. He's worked with U-Kiss, B1A4, and many more. We have two singles on iTunes, "Invincible" and "Scream." I'm also working with Kairos Music Group (producers for 4Minute, BTOB, f(x), Miss A). We're currently working on some amazing music which will follow "Scream" in just a bit. I also host K-Pop related events and media. I love to engage with an audience and really highlight fellow artists in the spotlight. I've also been a featured artist at both KCON events. An event like KCON is extraordinary. Shoutout to MNET! You must check it out this year.
If you could collaborate with one mainstream hip hop K-Pop group or person who would it be and why?
GD. Pretty much the most sought after man in K-Pop right now. He's a genius. I would also love to work with Nell. He's a genius too!
Who do you look up to musically in both American and Korean music?
American: Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Diplo + Baauer, Skrillex, Deadmau5, Zedd, OneRepublic, Bruno Mars, Neyo, Macklemore, Neon Indian, The Script, Jay-Z, JT, Kanye West, Imagine Dragons, Moby.
Korean: GD, Nell, Teddy, 2NE1, Gaeko from Dynamic Duo, Brave Brothers, B2ST.
Any last words for our Kpopstarz readers?
I treat supporters as fam and like to surprise with random gifts. It's amazing to see how the world has embraced the Korean culture and K-Pop with open arms. When I heard Gangnam Style on American radio, I was like, "oh word... oh what?" (Cheesy smile). So proud. I asked some non-Korean fans at a K-Pop event before on what's the draw? It's catchy and top quality. There was a recent report that stated Korea was ranked the World's Most Innovative Country. Anyhow, please support my new joint single, "Scream" with JD Relic. Download on iTunes:http://kpopstarz.com/http://bit.ly/1mHvDa0 . Watch the Official MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWYxtzyctjQ. More music on the way with Kairos Music Group and Dev (producer for Karmin, Pitbull). Thank you. Big ups to Kpopstarz! Blessings.
