Back in 2012, Brave Brothers, one of K-pop's most innovative and successful producers, was tapped to produce what ended up being the second EP, "It's," for the group Teen Top.
Nearly all of Teen Top's recorded output that year was with the superstar producer with one of the results being the dance gem "To You."
Though it is no secret that "To You" is a great track, the music video has received over 6.5 million YouTube views, it is also a song that gets better with age.
Released nearly two years ago, "To You" still could go toe-to-toe with anything on the K-pop charts in terms of catchiness or just making you want to dance.
One of the defining characteristics Brothers has displayed in his work with elite K-pop acts like 4Minute, Sistar and Brown Eyed Girls, is that he doesn't jam a hook down your throat.
Brother's beats aren't a relentless mallet to the skull in 4/4 time.
Rather, he draws you in with tasty musical ideas interwoven with the artistry of a master chef.
Teen Top as always, does their part on "To You," delivering their vocal parts with a passionate delivery that sounds effortless.
And though the song's music video is at times kind of cheesy, employing the well-worn K-pop cliché of individual band member shots on the street alternating with full band choreography in a parking garage, the song is too good to be brought down by mediocre direction.
And oh yeah, this band can dance their ass off.
Teen Top has continued to record nearly all of their music with Brave Brothers.
With results this good it's not hard to see why.
