The drama incorporates elements of fantasy, as there is a curse over the Taeyang Group in which the first bride will die. Lee Hong Ki's Choi Kang Joo is a wealthy and petulant character who is offset by Yang Jin Sung's Na Durim. Yang Jin Sung will play the Korean drama archetype Jang Lee Kyung, a wealthy and frosty woman.
The role is Lee Hong Ki's first significant one in a Korean drama since portraying the beloved Jeremy in the 2009 musical series You're Beautiful. Due to the nature of the plot, Bride of the Century will require Lee Hong Ki to display more emotional range. Prior to his debut with FTISLAND, Lee Hong Ki was a child actor, having made his acting debut in 2002 with the drama Magic Kid Masuri. Bride of the Century will begin airing on February 22nd on TV Chosun with subtitling on Dramafever. The twenty episode series will air in the Saturday-Sunday 20:00 time slot.
