Though Got7 only debuted at the beginning of 2014, there’s been a surprising amount of attention (mainly positive) directed at the rookie group.
Got7 met with Mwave’s enewsWorld on February 6, ahead of its live online fanmeeting for Mwave’s Meet&Greet, in the midst of a packed schedule.
Coming straight off of a live M Countdown recording, Got7 has clearly been working overtime - good news for rookies who are trying to make their mark in an already over-saturated industry.
But though Korea recently celebrated Lunar New Year, a major holiday which usually comes with significant vacation time, the boys were unable to take a break and admitted they spent the holidays in their dorms.
So if they were able to take a well-deserved break?
“We just want to go home and rest, or go to our families’ homes,” said Got7. “And go to the beach!”
“In Hong Kong, we eat dimsum, and that bread… it’s like a bread with a red stamp on top,” said Jackson. “A white round bread?”
Jackson, who hails from Hong Kong, also spoke briefly about the now-famous C-Line (China Line), a group of friends that seems to include most of the Chinese-born celebrities currently working as idols in Korea.
“We’re close to Jia and Fei since they’re part of the same company,” said Jackson. “Jia and Fei cheer us on in practicing a lot in order to show better performances.”
When asked who they would like to become closer to since they’ve debuted, Jr. answered, “Rain sunbaenim. I just like him, I think he’s really cool. Maybe I could learn his cool ways?”
Jr. added, ““We’re already close to people in our company, but Rain sunbaenim left before we came in.”
BamBam chimed in that he would like to get to know Teddy, the 1tym member-turned-YG star producer, while Jackson broke in with a surprising choice: Yoo Jae Suk.
Perhaps a guest spot on Yoo Jae Suk′s Running Man is up next for the busy members of Got7?
