FTISLAND’s Song Seung Hyun Reveals Why He Turned Down SM Entertainment
FTISLAND’s Song Seung Hyun, who made a comeback with Song Eun Yi through Two Song Place last month, revealed that he had received a casting offer from SM in the past!
On February 11, Song Seung Hyun and Song Eun Yi made guest appearances on Mnet‘s “Beatles Code 3D.”
“In my first year of middle school, I lost my way at a fireworks festival when two people approached me. They took my photo and gave me their business card,” began Song Seung Hyun. Those two people turned out to be from SM Entertainment, and without really knowing what an audition was, he said he sought out SM out of sheer curiosity.
When asked why he didn’t join SM Entertainment, Song Seung Hyun mentioned the contract he had read. “The scariest part,” he said, “Was that there was something about handing over the rights to your body.” MC Shindong (of Super Junior) laughed at this and offered some clarification. “It was probably a clause related to entrusting the authority and management of your portrait rights and name rights to them,” he said.
MC Shindong added, “If you had debuted through SM, you probably would have been a part of SHINee.” Song Eun Yi then teased Song Seung Hyun by saying, “Song Seung Hyun can’t really dance.”
