To look at the seven members of BTS, (also known as Bangtan Boys) you would not think they could slay on the mic as mercilessly as they can. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V and Jungkook have the male model looks expected of most K-pop boy bands.

Yet, these boys can rhyme.
In the nearly five-minute long track "BTS Cypher PT.2," off of the group's "Skool Luv Affair" EP, Bangtan Boys lay down rhymes as powerful and fluid as anything since Eminem's 2013 masterstroke "Rap God."
Jumping between the hard funk of an early Ice-T hip-hop beat and a dubstep-infused, grinding modern section, "BTS Cypher PT.2" has a sound all its own.
And because BTS's production team handles the abrupt transitions seamlessly, and the individual performances are so strong, it takes a few minutes to even notice the head-turning rhythmic changes.
Of the many innovative production choices on "BTS Cypher PT.2," a personal favorite is the way that the second section of the song, continues to not just build, but also to metamorphosize with additional drum and keyboard textures.
By the time it jumps back into the original vintage hip-hop sound the song opens with, the second section has become less Skrillex and more Dirty South, with a bit of the rhythmic feel of Jay Z's "Big Pimpin.'"
"BTS Cypher PT.2" is slower than the other songs on the "Skool Luv Affair" EP , released on Wednesday, but somehow its kick is heavier.
In this slowed down beat, the BTS are given the chance to pour their emotions into the track and demonstrate their rapping talent.
The members of BTS deliver on all fronts, putting in performance after performance of high-octane rhyming even hardcore hip-hop heads could enjoy.
